to Speak During 125th AES in San Francisco
Tempe, AZ, September 4, 2008 — Orban, a worldwide leader in audio processing for AM, FM, TV, and Internet broadcasting announces that Orban Founder and VP of Engineering Bob Orban and VP of New Product Development Greg Ogonowski will be featured speakers during the Broadcast Audio Conference at the 125th Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The conference runs from October 2nd through October 5th, 2008.
On Friday October 3rd from 11am-1pm, Bob Orban will speak during the Loudness Workshop. He will use the third-generation CBS Loudness Controller within Orban's Optimod-Surround 8585 audio processor to demonstrate automatic loudness control on a rogue's gallery of problematic material. Additionally, he will demonstrate Orban's free Loudness Meter application for Windows 2000, XP and Vista. The application simultaneously displays a Jones & Torick CBS loudness meter, an ITU-R BS.1770 loudness meter, a VU meter, and a PPM.
Also on October 3rd, from 4pm-6:45pm, Greg Ogonowski and Bob Orban appear at The History of Audio Processing Session. The participants of this session developed important tools and techniques in the field of transmission audio processing for broadcast. A discussion of the developments, technology, and the "Loudness Wars" will take place. This session is designed for those want to understand how and why audio processing is used.
