ORBAN ROLLS INTO NAB IN LAS VEGAS

Tempe, AZ April 1st, 2008 — Orban, a worldwide leader in audio processing for AM, FM, TV, and Internet broadcasting, will exhibit new products, present new technologies, and entertain customers and dealers as the Orban 33-foot long Mobile Broadcast Laboratory rolls into The National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas April 13th - April 17th 2008. Orban will have two booths at NAB: #N8536 in the Radio Hall and #C3447, which will feature Orban PC Products, in the Central Hall.

New Orban products on display include the Optimod 8585 Digital Surround Audio Processor. Starting with the technology of Orban's popular Optimod 6300 two-channel processor for digital transmission media, the 8585 takes this technology to the next level by incorporating multichannel processing that reflects the latest psychoacoustic research into loudness perception. The 8585 features Optimod-quality two-band and five-band audio processing for surround sound broadcasting, netcasting and mastering. Thanks to versatile compression ratio controls and a mastering-quality look-ahead peak limiter, the 8585 is ideal for mastering audio in broadcast productions as well as productions intended for media such as DVD and BluRay. The 8585 is built on Orban's flagship hardware platform and can process in 7.1 or 5.1+2.0 channel modes.

Orban VP of New Product Development Greg Ogonowski will offer a presentation on HD Audio Quality and Netcasting at 1:30pm Sunday April 13th during the Radio Technology Advancements Conference. The presentation will address technological advances in consumer audio delivery mechanisms, ranging from new portable music players for downloadable music to new streaming players and wireless mobile devices. Ogonowski will focus on streaming, which is a broadcasting opportunity that has finally reached technical maturity because technology is now available to address the implementation, convenience and audio quality issues that previously caused consumers to dismiss netcasting as second-rate. Orban Founder and VP of Engineering Bob Orban will be the lead-off presenter at The Surround Sound Conference at 9am on Wednesday April 16th. This conference will provide real-world advice and techniques on capturing, mixing, and transmitting 5.1-channel audio, which will accompany HD video. Orban will premiere a newly developed DSP implementation of the 1981 Jones & Torick CBS Loudness Meter on a rogue's gallery of loud commercials and program elements and will demonstrate how Orban's new third-generation version of the CBS Loudness Controller knocks them down to size. He will compare the Jones & Torick meter with the ITU BS.1770 meter side-by-side on this material. For more information, go to http://www.nabshow.com/2008/conferences/surround.asp

New Autogram products include the Autogram AudioBridge. The AudioBridge features a multi-format audio interface that has analog, AES/EBU, USB 2.0 and IP Audio connectivity. It offers high resolution 24-bit analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion with selectable conversion rates up to 192k samples per second. CobraNet IP audio enables real-time, high quality digital audio transmission over an Ethernet network; other IP audio standards are coming soon. The AudioBridge's USB port supports streaming audio to or from Windows or Mac PCs with correct interchannel clocking to guarantee perfect time alignment and phase. It uses the Microsoft Windows XP USB Audio Driver, so there is no extra driver to install. The AudioBridge offers a high quality integral headphone amp to monitor any source and a simple, intuitive menu interface for configuration and status information, all in a compact 1U rack mountable chassis.

The Orban Mobile Broadcast Laboratory (MBL) will be on display in the Radio Hall. The MBL is a fully equipped 33-foot mobile vehicle that has been converted to permit testing and demonstrations of Orban and CRL products, and to do comparisons. The MBL carries kiosk rack-mounted displays of Orban's entire product line. A variety of equipment, including the new Optimod 8585 Digital Surround Processor, the new Optimod-PC 1101, Optimod-FM 8500 and the Opticodec 7600 series hardware codec are on-board.

CEO Jay Brentlinger invites Orban dealers, customers and friends to mingle with the company's staff in a relaxed, informal environment at Orban's 4th Annual Tuesday Night Party on April 15. Starting at 6pm in The Las Vegas Hilton Ballroom B, this celebration will feature drinks, dancing and great live music by Charlie Rich Jr and the Orban Band.
