CRL Analog TV Processor Line
Ends Its Run as Company Moves to Digital
Tempe, AZ, September 12th, 2007 — Orban, a worldwide leader in audio processing for AM, FM, TV, and Internet broadcasting, announces the final run of production for its CRL analogue television products. These CRL units have served television stations worldwide for over 20 years. The emphasis is now on new digital technology for the CRL and Autogram product lines.
CRL Production Manager Bruce Mowers, Assembler Gloria Braid, and Test Technician John Carmer were working at the company in 1987 when the CRL TVS-3001, TVS-3003, and TVS 3010 were introduced. All three employees are still with CRL today.
"I helped build the first ones, and I'm proud to be here as the last one goes out," said Gloria Braid. John Carmer commented, “I've worked 23 years with CRL, and these TV products have enjoyed a great run serving stations everywhere.”
Orban President, Chairman, and CEO Jay Brentlinger stated, “For a product line like this to have a 20 year life span in this fast changing industry in almost unheard of. We won't ever see this kind of equipment life span again. We are proud of the service these units have provided to television broadcasters.”
Changing with the times, CRL introduced its first digital product this year. The Autogram DDA-8+USB is a high resolution, all digital professional grade 8 output digital audio distribution amplifier designed to isolate and distribute digital audio data formatted in accordance with AES/EBU specifications. The DDA-8 accepts a single digital audio input and transparently distributes the buffered signal on eight XLR outputs and on a USB port.
