Philippine Broadcasting Association Award

Tempe, Ariz., Jan. 17 – Orban®, a worldwide leader in audio processing for broadcasting and the Internet, announced it has received two awards from the Philippine broadcasters association, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) at the conclusion of the KBP’s 30th annual Top Level Management Conference and Technical Seminar.

The Top Level Management Conference for the top executives and managers within the Philippine broadcast professional community was held at the Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay City and the New World Hotel in Maktai City, Manila. Over 300 top management representatives and engineers attended the three-day conference.

The awards were presented at the end of the Technical Seminar at the New World Hotel in Makati City, Manila by Ruperto S. Nicdao, Jr., the President of the KBP and Manuela Eudes B.“Desy” Kelly, President and CEO of Broadcast World Philippines System, Inc., Orban’s exclusive dealer for the Philippines.

Orban received the first award to honor its 20+ years of service, dedication, assistance and education to the KBP, due largely to the tireless efforts for many years in the Philippines by CRL late co-founder Ronald Jones. Ron Jones made it a personal mission to “Make the Philippines a CRL country” and did just that. Today, over 75% of the AM stations and over 50% of the FM stations are using CRL audio processors. Combined, CRL and Orban have over 95% of the AM stations and over 80% of the FM stations throughout the Philippines.

Glenn K. Schulke of Orban received the second award in appreciation of his presentation on Audio Processing and 5.1 Surround for Digital Audio Broadcasting during the Technical Seminar.

C. Jayson Brentlinger, Chairman, CEO and President said, “These awards demonstrate our past and future commitment to the Philippine market. Having known Ron Jones for many years, I know how proud he would be.” Mr. Brentlinger added, “At the request of Mrs. Kelly, Glenn will become Orban’s sales representative for the Philippines.”

Commenting on his new role Mr. Schulke said, “I didn’t have a chance to know Ron Jones, but I could tell from talking with the broadcasters he worked with in the Philippines how much he cared for its people and how dedicated he was to the Philippines. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue the work started by Ron Jones.”
