Orban / CRL at NAB 2004 in Las Vegas

Tempe, Ariz. — 2004, April 19 — Orban®/CRL (NASDAQ: CRLI.OB), the worldwide leader in audio processing for radio, television, and the Internet, will be displaying two new products and will be hosting several industry events at the 2004 National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas April 18 – 22. Dealers and end users will be offered hands-on experience with the entire Orban and CRL product lines, with demonstrations, question and answer sessions, and one-on-one consultation with Orban and CRL representatives. Orban/CRL's Mobile Broadcast Laboratory, Support Vehicle, and Listening Booth will be lined up on the show floor, producing an impressive 80-foot long display at Booth N1038.

Orban/CRL will have a large hospitality suite on the 29th floor atop the Las Vegas Hilton (Suite #2983), which will host an informative session for Orban/CRL dealers on Sunday, April 18 at 6 p.m. The suite will be the site of an informal discussion on HD Radio and TV on Monday, April 19 at 6 p.m. Society of Broadcast Engineers members are welcome to visit the hospitality suite on Tuesday, April 20 at 6 p.m. for SBE Night. And Wednesday, April 21 at 6 p.m., Orban/CRL will conduct its second annual Latin Night, featuring south-of-the border cuisine and music.

The new products being displayed include Orban’s affordable Optimod-FM 2300, the newest generation of legendary Optimod, plus the classic two-band compressor with high frequency limiter structure that began with the Optimod 8100. The Optimod-FM 2300 also offers new ITU 412 multiplex power density control and provides built-in Ethernet support.

Orban/CRL’s President and CEO, Jay Brentlinger, commented: “The Orban 2200 has been one of our best-selling processors of all time. When we developed its successor, we knew that we had to retain and augment the audio quality that made the 2200 so popular while adding features that broadcasters expect in this network-centric age. We spent a lot of time and care to get the 2300 right and we expect that broadcasters will perceive that it offers state-of-the-art Optimod quality, plus even more ‘bang for the buck’ than the 2200.”

Also, internet audio streaming has just become affordable and listenable with Orban’s new Opticodec-PC, the world’s first MPEG4 AAC/aacPlus codec for audio streaming. Opticodec-PC offers the most important feature that the basic netcaster is looking for in an encoding product — entertainment-quality sound at economical bit-rates. The software lets streaming providers supply content encoded with the Coding Technologies® aacPlus codec, widely acknowledged as offering the highest available audio quality at the lowest possible bit rate.

Show attendees will have the opportunity to pull the lever on Orban/CRL's NAB Slot Machine, with a chance to win Orban and CRL products, and the possibility of cashing in on a $50,000 payout! A drawing will be held, giving away one of the last Orban 8200 Signature Series audio processors.
