AUDIO QA TESTER
Job Location: San Leandro, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Testing of digital audio processors for broadcast: FM, AM, Digital TV, and Webcasting.
- Auditioning audio processing for objectionable noise and/or unintended audio artifacts.
- Produce complete and accurate evaluation reports as required to verify performance of professional products and to promote and maintain Orban quality and value.
- Connecting and configuration of audio- and test equipment as required for test circumstances.
- Test user interfaces for functionality; offer suggestions to improve GUI as appropriate.
- Ensure that product performance matches specification, and report variance.
- Learn tools related to job functions.
- Editing & proofreading product manuals.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Some experience in Broadcasting, Broadcast- or Audio Engineering.
- Familiarity with Orban technologies and applications of Digital Signal Processing as it applies to audio products desirable.
- Hardware and Software troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems (Win9x, Win2K, Win XP), configuration and troubleshooting.
- High attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a busy environment and communicate with team members.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application, including Word-processing and spreadsheets.
- Working knowledge of testing Ethernet and Serial Connections. Familiarity with audio streaming technologies.
- Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communications skills, ability to work independently and achieve goals established in a team environment.
DESIRE:
- Some programming knowledge/experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with use and operation of electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with Webcasting a plus.
- Teamwork and communication a must in this position.
POSITION: CAD DESIGNER
JOB LOCATION: Tempe, AZ
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Associate or Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE: minimum 5 to 7 years performing PCB layout.
POSITION SUMMARY: The layout and design of printed circuit boards based on data from Engineering, Product Design, and Manufacturing. Creation and maintenance of related documentation which includes but is not restricted to Source Control Drawings, Symbol Library Footprints, Engineering Change Orders, Gerber Files, Schematics, Fabrication Drawings, Parts Lists and Assembly Drawings. Proficient at Altium Designer and AutoCAD required. SolidWorks experience is a plus.

Strategic establishment of common hole-size relationships, the generation of CAD symbols that meet the needs of printed circuit board design, manufacture, and assembly. The creation of SCD's that meet the needs of printed circuit board design, mechanical design, purchasing and receiving inspection.
From verbal to rough sketches; organize circuit flow, identify component symbols, assign reference designators, establish net lists, and all other data such that the printed circuit board layout tasks can commence in an efficient manner.
Altium experience must incorporate the used of schematic entry, PCB design, and Gerber output. Knowledge of the entire software suite will be needed to perform job requirements.
Component placement, trace routing, adherence to design standards and specifications, the generation of printed circuit board fabrication drawings, and gerber data files.
Understanding of controlled impedance design and PCB material properties is important.
Quickly identify and diagnose problems as they arise during the design of printed circuits.
Work closely with document control; the timely implementation of orders that affect released documents.
A problem solver with strong communication and project management skills with the ability to take direction from others. The ability to quickly learn and to take responsibility for the timely and successful implementation for projects is essential to this position. Engineering Technician (San Leandro, CA)
Orban is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our design team in creating leading edge audio products.
This position requires a diverse skill set and offers a great opportunity for professional development and expression of creative talent.
Participation from design to production of complex audio products with analog/digital circuit boards will include debugging prototypes to the circuit level, production test software development, and end user usability software analysis.
Familiarity with digital oscilloscopes, audio test equipment, soldering tools, and firmware programmers and debuggers are necessary.
Applicant should be proficient at reading schematics and component data sheets, be able to understand and work with complex devices such as embedded CPU and DSP ICs, have a very good understanding of basic electronic circuit design, have excellent PC and verbal and written communication skills.
In-circuit debugging tools and firmware development skills are a plus, preferably in the Windows CE environment.

Document Control Specialist (Tempe, AZ)
Maintain the integrity of the data base system. Familiarity with Item Masters, BOMs, and routers. A good understanding of MRP is preferred. Must have 2 to 3 years experience in maintaining documentation for electronic design/assembly company.
Requirements:
- Firm understanding of the ECO process.
- Excellent file management skills with both electronic and paper files, is a must.
- Detail oriented approach to all practices.
- Ability to work with engineers and purchasing to gather appropriate materials for manufacturing.
- Technically skilled and able to understand engineering parts and processes.
- Manage and maintain engineering parts database and datasheets.
- Review engineering documents for errors prior to product release.
- Experience in developing an electronic controlled document process (paperless)
- Firm understanding of the infrastructure needed to build a strong document control process.
- Able to make and create control documents from scratch using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Maintain item master for products.
- Ability to maintain software and hardware revisions.
- Would like candidate to be detail oriented, able to multi-task and a team player
- Bachelors degree desired, but not necessary.
